Workshop with Professor Edna Foa in Prolonged exposure in Copenhagen, Denmark

Her work is the best researched treatment for PTSD in the world, and through the workshop, you will be able to deal with PTSD in your context and treat your patients PTSD.
Edna Foa is a international leading autority in the field of trauma treatment. She has work with trauma for 30 years. She has created prolonged exposure, which is the most empirial treatment for PTSD in the world. Prolonged exposure has over 30 random control trials, and up to 85 % of patients get significant reduction in PTSD symptoms. Her treatment is the first of choice of treatment for PTSD in the American, Candian and Israel army. She has lot of empirical research with borderline with PTSD, rape, child abuse, accidents, and her method works in general with all the traumas, if they have the diagnosis of PTSD. Her treatment is implemented in the American, Canadian and Israelian Army for soldiers with PTSD. Many crisis centers worldwide use the methode to help women overcome PTSD from abusive partners. Her methode is first choice if the clients has a borderline personality disorders and PTSD.
She is coming to Copenhagen, Denmark for a four day workshop, where the participants will learn in a unique way to do prolonged exposure.
Edna Foa is Professor in clinical psychology at the University in Pennsylvania og leader of Center for the Treatment and Study of Anxiety. She is worldfamous for her theoretical and clinical contribution to research and development of treatments for anxiety, PTSD and traumas. She has developed "Prolonged Exposure therapy", a very effective treatment for PTSD. The treatment has much empirical evidens.
Professor Edna Foa has a lifelong research in traumas and trauma treatment. She has written several books e.g. "Effective treatments for PTSD", "Prolonged Exposure Therapy for Adulescents with PTSD Emotional Processing of Traumatic Experiences" og "Treating the Trauma of Rape: Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy for PTSD". She also works with OCD and has got the lifetime award for the American Association for OCD in 2011.

This unique workshop will give the participants the fantastic opportunity to learn PTSD treatment of professor Edna Foa. On these four days the participants will learn the treatment components in "Prolonged Exposure Therapy", psychoeducation about common reactions to traumas, in-vivo eksposure to low risk situations and imagined eksposure to trauma memories.
The participants will learn how to make the client emotionally engage in the traumatic memory in order to reduce trauma related symptoms and difficulties.
There will be many DVD demonstrations.
Participants will learn to deal with the participants emotionel stress during the treatment. There will be roleplays and training in constructing in-vivo exposure hierarkies and imaginatory exposure.
Foa earned her B.A. in Psychology and Literature from Bar Ilan University in 1962, and her M.A. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Illinois in 1970. In that same year she completed her PhD in Clinical Psychology and Personality at the University of Missouri.
Her research, aimed at determining causes and treatments of anxiety disorders, has been highly influential. Foa is an expert in post-traumatic stress disorders (PTSD) and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). The program she has developed for rape victims is considered to be one of the most effective therapies for PTSD. She has published several books and over 200 articles and book chapters, has lectured extensively around the world, and was the chair of the PTSD work group of the DSM-IV.
Foa's methodology has been highly success in both the US and Israel, and she divides her time between the two countries.
